Liquid silicone rubbers
NuSil® liquid silicone rubbers (LSRs) provide an excellent medical-grade material for precision-molded components, such as O-rings, gaskets, valves and seals used in medical devices.
NuSil liquid silicone rubbers (LSRs) from Avantor® have a paste-like consistency and are designed for use in high-volume precision manufacturing processes such as liquid injection molding and over-molding. They can be used to produce molded parts that feature complex geometries in a matter of seconds, especially very small to medium-sized parts, like gaskets and valves used in medical devices.
LSRs are two-part platinum-catalyzed systems that cure rapidly with increased temperatures and do not require a post-cure process. Specialty formulations are available for applications that require solvent-resistance, high-clarity or lubrication. LSRs can be supplied in both high-volume containers for full-scale production or small handheld cartridges for prototyping or small volumes.
For additional functionality, LSRs can easily incorporate additives for color, radiopacity or to create a foam-like texture.
